A soft quilt texture that makes you want to touch it
For serving coffee and homemade sweets to a friend I haven't seen in a while.
For putting your favorite sake cup and bottle and enjoying moon viewing on the wooden deck.
It is an item that adds color to everyday life.
Aiming to create a new product that suits the modern lifestyle by using the technique of Takaoka lacquerware "Chokoku-lacquering", designated as a national traditional craft.
Inspired by a masterpiece of Kaijiro Nohtomi’s "Soutaibon", this new design reminiscent of quilting and stone pavement was born.
The designer and the maker have also incorporated their ingenuity into the details, such as not making the unevenness too large in consideration of placing objects on it, and reducing the luster in the finish to make the light gentle.
Take Takaoka's inherited skills to the next stage!
